Dr. Alex Hernandez here, Chiropractor from Life Chiropractic and Acupuncture in North Bergen. A common question we get is: "What is a Chiropractor good for?" I want to answer that simply. It’s a very good question.
Many people come to see a chiropractor for different reasons, our specialty is the spine. We go to school for 4 years and learn about the spine, nerves, and their related structures. Chiropractors take care of any kind of neuromusculoskeletal problems. Basically, we take care of the neuro, which is neurological, such as pinched nerves. We take care of the muscles, which means any kind of muscle problems that are related to the spine, the shoulders, and the hips. This is the big muscular system.
We also take care of problems with bones, and let me be very clear, we do not take care of anything that’s fractured. In the skeletal system, if your bones are out of alignment, particularly, if the bones of your spine are out of alignment, that’s what we take care of.
So we take care of those 3 areas: nerves, muscles, and bones. We take care of pinched nerves; if you have a muscle sprain, we take care of your muscle sprain; if you have injured yourself through sports or an accident we take care of those injuries as well.
The top conditions that we treat are: headaches, neck pain, whiplash, shoulder pain, arm pain, back pain, disc problems such as disc herniations, disc bulges; leg pain, and also sports injuries.
